A high availability network infrastructure and network servers were designed of the system and tested for a secondary school using: (1) VMware ESXi and VMware View to provide server and desktop virtualization services, (2) Hierarchical network design with redundant network paths to provide high availability and (3) Security measures such as Juniper SSG20 firewall to protect the network.

Currently, a static website is used by Hong Kong Playground Association (Integrated Service for Children & Youth). It is difficult for the staff to maintain the content of the website. Therefore, a new online Content Management System (CMS) will be designed for the Youth Centre in this project. Furthermore, one of the important issues when revamping the website is to enhance its attractiveness so that the communication between the association and their members can be improved. To achieve this task, various interactive functions will be introduced, which include: live chat room for the members to discuss on hot topics, forum for activities’ attendants to share their experience and activity album for the participants to recall the memorable moments.

The aim of this project is to develop a public platform for different organizations to publish and manage their events. It would provide a convenient way for the participants to search, discover and apply for events from various organizations, and subscribe the news of their participated events. The system would also be an integrated platform for the organizers to manage post-event activities such as distributing event-related photos. 
 
In addition to the web-based event management system, a mobile application is built on Android platform. While users, either event organizers or the members of the organizations, can use the portable Android application to visit all events raised, update news, apply for events, receive event-related notifications or news, etc.
